Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies can make a difference. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

"Individuals can do nothing to improve the environment; only governments and large companies can make a difference". My feeling towards this statement acts as a double-edged sword. On one side, with my personal thoughts, I strongly disagree with the statement but on the other, it might seem very logical that it is actually how this neoliberal world is running.

Policymakers have been witnessed that a huge number of citizens became sick due to junk food, and they believe that it is crucial for a government to be imposed a higher tax on this type of food. This essay agrees that the government's official should issue a law that could minimize the demand for juck food, and this would be through tax. Firstly, imposing a higher tax on fast food will control the demand in the market and would encourage people to obtain a healthy lifestyle.

the new generation youngers are more attracted towards the news games. Individuals are indulging in new gaming activities such as Scuba diving and bungee which are dangerous games and they should be blamed for the loss of their lives and they should not be saved by the rescue workers who risk their lives to save them. I agree to the extent that they are responsible for their lives however I believe that being human beings they have some responsibility over the players.

Businesses have always sought to make a profit, but it is becoming increasingly common to hear people talk about the social obligations that companies have. I completely agree with the idea that businesses should do more for society than simply make money. On the one hand, I accept that businesses must make money in order to survive in a competitive world. It seems logical that the priority of any company should be to cover its running costs, such as employees’ wages and payments for buildings and utilities. On top of these costs, companies also need to invest in improvements and innovations if they wish to remain successful. In the 21st century, Global warming is one of the most discussed issues. The leaders of the developed countries are trying to solve that problem by proposing many countermeasures. Therefore, the majority of industrialized companies and business holders are concerned about new reforms while others are expecting more opportunities. I believe that reforms will affect negatively on some businesses, both are discussed in the following paragraphs.
