Some people think that individuals are born to be leaders, others believe leadership can be learnt. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

People have different views about what makes a great leader. While there are individuals who have the inborn ability to be leaders, I would argue that leadership is something we need to learn. On the one hand, it is true that many people are born to be leaders. Firstly, as those who are innately intelligent are able to think and react quickly in difficult situations, they can easily become good leaders. For instance, although my uncle, who is very smart, did not take part in any leadership training courses, he has successfully managed his own company for more than 20 years and has made a fortune with it. Secondly, individuals who are exceptionally talented would also find it easy to be trusted by others. Therefore, they are obvious candidates for top positions in organisations. Economic development has been cited as one of the most integral parts of both developed and less affluent countries to indicate a country’s power in the globe. However, while it is argued that economic progress is an essential goal for a country, I am in favour of the equal role of other sectors.

In modern societies, the consumption of processed food and soft drinks, which can exert detrimental impacts on human health, is rising rapidly. The question of whether these types of products should be banned from the market or not still remains controversial. Personally, I am firmly of the latter point of view.

In a number of countries, some people think it is necessary to spend large sums of money on constructing new railway lines for very fast trains between cities. Others believe the money should be spent on improving existing public transport. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

It is said that by some people that new modern railways systems for high-speed trains should be invested by governments, which links cities together but others believe that existing public conveyance should be more priority than others on improving. I argue that both these views have many positive aspects which will be discussed below.

It is true that nowadays the prison method to solve problems of crime is no longer the best way. Some people suggest that the authorities may provide education and job training for criminals to adjust their behavior and I completely agree with this view.

It is true that the world has been experiencing an immense detrimental efffect of criminal activities and numerous people assert that it is unresolvable to halt this problem. I completely disagree with this point of view and I believe this issue can be addressed by both assistance and education from governments.

Opinions differ when it comes to class division based on academic ability. While classes of mixed abilities may provide some peer support for slower students, I believe that it is better to assign students of the same pace to study in the same class.

To what extent do you agree that societies benefit from the increased contact and closer relationships with foreigners brought by international tourism and business?

These days, it is generally believed by many people that association among different parts all around the globe has enhanced speedily due to the revolutionary affordability of air travel and the ground-shaking development of telecommunication. From my perspective, I totally agree that societies have advantages from the growing connection and close relationships with foreigners brought by international tourism and business.

Some people believe that everyone has a right to have access to university education and that governments should make it free for all students no matter what financial background they have. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is contended that all citizens should be granted with free tertiary education as one of their rights, regardless of their financial status=>socio-economic background. However, much as the justifications this idea can offer, I believe the government should not be responsible for their higher education for several reasons.

There is a controversy about whether adolescents should get an occupation after secondary school or continuing their study at higher education institution to obtain success. I totally think that studying at tertiary is a better choice.

It is a common belief that the government must not permeate to intrude people’s privacy. However, I strongly believe that people‘s freedom should be sometimes infringed by government in order to protect dwellers from danger and make sure that safety regulations are followed.

It is true that many people making their choice of the profession at an early stage, and pursuing it for the rest of their lives have a prosperous career. While I accept this may work for some people, I believe others experiencing different jobs will also achieve a satisfying working life.

Alternation of popular hobbies is getting quicker and quicker result in some arguments that changing popular recreations tend to reflect trends and styles rather than true personal interests. I completely agree with this assertion.

In recent decades, the question for aims of TV news has been raising throughout the world. In my opinion, instead of being entertaining, it is better for TV news to be educational and informative.

It is often argued that it is difficult to get children to read. Why do you think this is? What measures could be taken to encourage children to read more? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Reading is really important for everyone, especially for children to become successful in school and their journey through life. However, lots of parents feel struggle when they try to encourage their kids to love reading or just sit tight to listen to their stories. In my opinion, the reason for this is that most children feel reading is so boring and hard. Firstly, there are too many distractions that appeal to children more than reading. Children could choose to watch television or playing with their toys rather than reading a fairy tale. Secondly, the reading materials may exceed your child's reading ability. The interest may be there, but if the book is hard to read, your child’s motivation will wane. As a result, once children lose interest in reading, it's hard to get them back.
