The argument that parents of children who break the law should be punished is a valid one because, most children who carries out these crimes are influenced to a large extent by their parents. Failure of parental tutelage and authority can be showcased to society as outright disdain for law and order. I, however do not subscribe to such opinions. Most children engaged in heinuos activities come from loving homes where discipline is emphasissed. A child's trajectory in life is dictated by the choices the child's make much as bringing the horse to water does not guarantee its hydration as the decision to drink or not drink is left solely to the horse. Children should be guided in the straight path but if they derail, they should be made to face the music squarely. Not only will this form a firm basis for future interaction as the law of action and consequences becomes ingrained in their minds, it would also deter other children from falling out of line and indulging in crime.
