In 1920, refrigerators were owned by the minority of below four per cent of households. However, their figure skyrocketed to 100 per cent by 1980 before keeping the same until 2019. The percentage of their counterparts with refrigerators more than tripled to 100 per cent over this period. In comparison, refrigerators were the most possessed item among the three electrical machines in the initial year (two-fifth ownership), but the proportion of their owners had a fluctuant increment of nearly twofold by the final year and was overtaken by that of refrigerator and vacuum cleaner possessors after 1940 and 1960, respectively
