It is important for children to learn the difference between right and wrong at an early age. Punishment is necessary to help them learn this distinction. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion? What sort of punishment should parents and teachers be allowed to use to teach good behavior to children?

There is a controversial discussion about whether parents should educate their offspring on the difference between right and wrong by punishment. Some people argue that it is more efficient to use this way to teach children, while some people think that it may have a negative impression on them and even result in rebellious behaviour. I firmly believe that punishment is not the best way to educate. This essay will contain my reason and a better solution to this situation.

Currently, some existing penalties in several nations are considered uncivilized as they have tendencies to make harsh sentences like a long period of imprisonment for all kinds of offences. Although some people still believe that putting criminals into jail is the most effective way to give them a lecture, I disagree with this dilemma and perceive that it would be better to punish juvenile delinquents or mild lawbreakers with unpaid community tasks which could bring more positive results.
