To some extent I agree that advertising has an impact on sales, but I would also argue that we do need most of the goods that we buy. Every year people can be seen queuing to buy the latest models, even when they already have a perfectly good phone that does not need replacing. There has been a debate among people who think it is beneficial for us to destroy parks and gardens and build accomodations for workers who commute to city centres and those who against this idea. Whenever we come across an advertisement in between television programmes, we tend to get annoyed to some extent but, perhaps you may try on that particular item you saw in the advertisement the next day instead. That is why it is said to be an art of promoting to persuade individuals. Admittedly, some believe that still advertisements are persuading and perpetuating far more however, others believe it is going out of our heed due to high prevalence. Before coming to a concrete conclusion, my notion is to critically analyse both aspects to weigh the views.
