IELTS Opinion Writing Samples Band 8.5
The university education system is one of the widened topics discussed by many people nowadays.Most of them advocate that students are allowed to choose their favourite subjects, but others oppose that they should follow a specific career path which is related to science and technology. In my opinion, I strongly agree with the first one which provides the children to select their interesting topics, that helps them to achieve their goal.
There are a few lessons teaching in the mandatory mode in primary schools while it is apparent that some subjects, which are mathematics, philosophy and so on, are tough for early aged children. I will explain my opinion that why I believe that these kinds of hard lessons should be an optional mode for school-aged learners.
Based on research, climate change is the most essential threat for the next decades by which icebergs and glaciers are melting more and more yearly. People's opinions differ as to whether we should stand against it or cope with it. While there are strong arguments in favour of both of these sentiments, I would rather advocate the first group.
Equality between men and women has always been a global argument with old and new prejudice, especially taking part in a governmental job. However, living in this present world, I would support that women need to be accepted and treated equally with men at all.
Issues related to the national budget are frequently discussed these days. It is argued that due to the limit of government funds, it should be offered in terms of building railways better than roads. I truly agree with this assertion and the explanation will be discussed in the following paragraphs.
We see the word 'New' daily in almost every advertisement around us. This will psychologically convince the majority of consumers about their quality. It is true that today more and more companies claim their goods to be new in a specific way in their advertisements. In my opinion, although there may be some merits associated with this, it is a negative trend.
Over the last several decades, social media has altered into an essential method of communication for modern people. A segment of society is convinced that this trend benefits individuals because they can keep in touch with their old friends, make new ones and be aware of the latest news. Others, however, believe that it detrimentally affects people leading to mental health issues. I personally support the latter view. The following paragraphs will discuss the pros and cons of social media and highlight my opinion in detail.
Oxygen is an essential element for the survival of the human race. One section of the society thinks that more plantations should be there in unoccupied places, on the contrary; others think that accommodations should be made over there. This essay will elaborate on both points of view of this issue and thus lead to a logical conclusion.
In certain cities around the world, there are no guidelines or regulations on the designs of buildings, and constructors can choose whatever style they prefer. Undoubtedly, there are benefits, as well as drawbacks of such loose city design legislations. In my view, the disadvantages are more considerable than the advantages.
Some people argue that the government budget for preserving aged properties should be less than building new houses and road constructions. While I believe that maintaining old architecture is a necessity according to their values, I completely agree that constructing new roads and houses needs more money.
There are some people who opine that violent sports including boxing and martial arts should be prohibited from TV channels and global competitions. From my point of view, I partially agree with this idea since their advantages are outweighed by disadvantages.
The invention of the internet has definitely changed our world. Some people believe that it has changed for the better, bringing humans closer together, whereas others think that the situation has only worsened since nobody really interacts with others anymore.
People have different views about whether accepting awful instances is the best way. While there are some benefits of satisfying the present, I would argue that situations should be improved.
In recent decades, throughout the growing technology sharply and increase the number of innovations consequently there are vast choices for any product or services. Also, there is an argument that people face overloaded choices that may have some demerits instead of merit and a agree with this viewpoint.
Visiting Places for recreation is one of the most probable spends of an individual. Since for most commonly visited places,the tourism industry contributes as a major source of income, many believe that if this aspect is not managed correctly, it may lead to a lot of problems.Whilst it might lead to a few problems, I firmly believe that it's best not to meddle with the current state of such attractions.
Some individuals claim that space exploration costs a fortune and spending this huge amount of money is not worth it. whilst, many people hold the thought that space programs must carry on no matter how much does it cost. As far as I am concerned, continuing this researches will put heavy burdens on governments' shoulders which is not necessary. This essay will discuss both views and gives relevant examples about them.
With alarming population growth, food shortage has become an area of contention in many countries. One of the remedial measures, in some people's opinion, is genetically modified food. In my view, this can be a good solution to have enough food for everyone, as GM crops can be more resistant to pests and diseases. However, the government should strictly control genetic modifications to avoid negative effects on human's health.
