Because of the bad economic situation that is especially threatening the poor societies, the increasing possibility of crimes can be visible. In such a case, there are two ideas about the punishment for a felon; fixed penalties or modifiable fines. In the following, I am going to discuss both points of view and elucidate my own opinion.

With regards to the popular quote “Prevention is better than cure”, it is more sensible to invest in precautionary measures rather than spending funds on expensive and needless research and treatments. However, while I believe that medical discoveries and findings carry their own value to some extent, I agree that investment in creating preventive actions is far superior.
