Other people think there are benefits if society has more elderly people. To what extent do the advantages of having an ageing population outweigh the disadvantages?

The rapid development of technology has brought us many great achievements in many fields, especially the field of health. More and more people are living longer than ever before. Most people currently can expect to live into their seventies and beyond. Correspondingly, high-income and middle-income countries face major challenges to the ageing population. However, some argue that it has a positive effect on their society. From my point of view, I believe that the drawbacks of the ageing population outweigh the benefits.

It is irrefutable that socialism and lack of respect towards the elders are on the verge of extinction because of the gradual change in the mindset of the upcoming generation. To overcome these challenges, dependency on technology should be alleviated, and human interaction should be promoted.
