Maintaining public libraries is a waste of money since the internet has widely replaced their function. To what extent do you agree or disagree? With the development of information technology, electronic books have become the dominant sources of obtaining knowledge. People are able to look up references online with ease, unlike traditional libraries where it takes long time to retrieve information. Therefore, people are arguing that it is unnecessary to maintain public libraries; however, I believe that public libraries should be kept, as the functions of traditional libraries are irreplaceable.
