Considering the soaring rates of immigration among different countries, there has been an ongoing debate regarding the social and practical problems facing immigrants who do not speak a foreign language in their country of residence. This essay firmly agrees that not knowing the language of the country you live in can raise numerous obstacles, including social and practical issues. First, this essay will demonstrate how these individuals will encounter social isolation and discrimination, and consequently, will discuss how they will remain unemployed and poverty-stricken.
