This mindset accompanies me whenever I want to explore and try something new. I achieved second place as an Exemplary Student of Universitas Pancasila, which can be seen as a result of my journey. Actively participating in volunteering since 2022 has developed my self-development skills. However, my turning back point happened in July 2023. At that time, Kompetisi Debat Mahasiswa Indonesia (KDMI) 2023 was opened, and I was intrigued to try new things. I almost gave up because I had never done a debate before. Armed with a mindset of “just try,” I successfully faced various changes until the final selection. I expanded the perspective that I never paid attention to and combined it with many possible aspects to build my motion’s argument. My critical thinking and decision-making were also developed due to the short time I had to build the argument.

This essay will expound on both views and provide relevant examples.

Some people believe that in order to create a significant impact, they have to put their maximum effort into completing the task and not take "work-life balance" into account. In my opinion, people should consider physical and mental well-being to achieve a better work output and a work-life balance.

Nowadays people have different perspectives about the availability of free public transportation in urban areas like Jakarta, Surabaya, and Jogjakarta. It is often believed that speaking the truth at all times is not necessary, especially during occasions when it is considered pivotal to tell a lie. This essay agrees that while telling lies can sometimes be justified and is necessary when protecting a loved one from legal issues and when it causes harm to others, it disagrees that telling the truth is completely wrong as people have free will to do what is considered right.

These days people have different views about watching TV shows and films. Some of them think that the films which are produced in foreign countries should be played, and others think just local cinema needs to be attended. I think there are defenses for both views. However, I believe that paying attention to local cinema is the initial step and should be considered first.

Of course, the concept of "prevention is better than cure" leads to debates about the priority of prevention, using investments in scientific research to treat diseases. While some argue that developing technologies to treat disease is expensive and that prevention should be emphasized, I disagree. Research tests for drug discovery and smooth and cost cycle expectations. The fight against COVID-19 proves that investment is essential to save humanity. This is an obvious urgent need for scientific research and medical advances. The pandemic highlights the importance of allocating resources to rapidly understand and combat emerging threats. Preventive measures alone may not be sufficient to address rapidly changing and unpredictable health crises.

Nowadays, the implementation of advanced technology contributes to deterring and accomplishing criminals which can be seen in a declining percentage of cases in society than before. It happens because high technologies can supervise crime activities and increase the risk of the offender getting caught. In my opinion, I completely agree with the situation and I will examine in this essay the reasons why I agree with that along with a summary.
