In many cases, the people being monitored are unaware that that this is happening. Do you think the advantages of this development outweigh the disadvantages?

In this era of science and technology, its very easy to monitor the activities of the people by using mobile phones and spy cameras. The individuals being monitored are mostly unaware. The main reason for such an activity is to curb any terrorist activity and I believe that this reason is enough to outweigh the disadvantages like a breach of privacy.
