IELTS Opinion Writing Samples Band 6
While some believe that children should use their spare time in team activities, others think that they must learn how to spend this time alone. In my opinion, parents should motivate offspring to work on their own because though spending spare time in group activities can teach youngsters some practical social skills, being on their own can help them follow their instincts freely and pursue their interests.
The incessant surge in global energy consumption, predominantly the increasing demand for oil and gas, has turned the compass of energy exploration towards remote and untouched natural places. This pursuit, while presenting a viable solution for our insatiable energy needs, also generates contentious debates over its environmental impact. While acknowledging the necessity of these energy resources, this essay will argue that the disadvantages of exploiting these pristine locales for oil and gas extraction substantially outweigh the advantages.
There is a belief that people will leave physical newspapers or books and replace them with their online versions because readers can get them for free in the upcoming years. I oppose this statement and will state my reasons in the following paragraphs.
Today we have a huge problem with employees spending extra time during their work . Governments have tried to solve it by passing daily working hours limits for companies. In my opinion, this solution is a good try, but it could work partly and not in the way that the government expected.
several people's view in terms of culture is that these days, folks aren't keen on preserving the conventional culture of their national origin. That said, some others' perspective is different, they believe that the importance of culture is still alive among people. I think that some parts of the culture like beliefs and attitudes are exposed to changes for diverse reasons. In this essay, I will argue both views and give my opinion.
These days, it is commonly seen that students in a university have a part-time job for various purposes in addition to university studies they have. Some people believe that working as a part-time job would be beneficial to undergraduate students and I strongly agree that. I believe that it will help them acquire essential skills for employment they may need when graduate and make them more likely to be employed by employers than those who did not have a part-time job.
It is thought that the pupils in secondary school have to be educated the international news as a major subject,whereas others claim that it is not necessary.In this essay, both points of view will be illustrated in addition to my opinion.
A number of people believe that only high-graded students must be accepted in universities, on the other hand, some hold the view that no matter how unsatisfactory the previous grades are or how old the students are, they are still eligible to enter the universities. I think that it is fair not to limit students' entrance by means of their age and former performance results.
Some teachers believe that sending their students abroad for an exchange program will have advantages. The student exchange to other countries will give new unforgettable experiences to students. However, others believe that the student exchange program will have negative impacts such as high cost and brings homesickness to students, thus they disagree. In my opinion, I agree with the idea of the student exchange activity as it will give lots of benefit to students.
There are different opinions about the way of bringing up offspring. While some people opine free selection of garb or leisure is the right of the beloved, others believe it results in selfishness in offspring. In this essay, I discuss both these views and present my viewpoint. On the one hand, there is a thinking style among the father and mother who consider their kid as an independent creature who should obey his / her parent’s commands. Confirmation of ancestors in all selections of life is a rule in this culture ; even if in marriage. A child who disobeys is considered a rebel person in this thinking style. For example, my origins never let me select my gears by myself. They choose their favorite dress or shoes for me depending on their tastes. On the other hand, some creators let their fruits choose their beloved dress or fun. They learn the decision-making process from their kids too. Nowadays, the distinction in the age between parents and their children is higher than in the past. Whilst some people think that this is a good intention, I believe that this will cause many problems rather than benefits.
