IELTS Opinion Writing Samples Band 7
In the world of public policy, there is a divide between people who want more government aid for the elderly and those who think we should focus more on funding education for the young. I side with the letter, believing that the nation’s future rests with the young.
Undoubtedly, for decades, human activity on Earth has negatively affected the environment, causing massive problems such as global warming and the extinction of various flora and fauna in the world. Some people argue that the damage cannot be reversed as it is too extensive. However, the opponents including myself believe that there are several steps that can be taken to slow down or even reverse this condition.
Owing to a healthy life, sports play a pivotal role in all societies in the world. It is argued that group sports are better, while others hold the view that solo sports are the best. In my opinion, group sports bring about a significant amount of benefits such as developing cognitive skills and being patient with others.
In now day and age,lots of people tend to choose this distance learning programme one of which is to stay at home rather than go directly to the academy.From my perspective,I completely disagree with this view due to some disadvantages of self-learning at home and the benefits of the academy.
Our society has been governed by some rules since time immemorial. There are few people who are of the belief that there should be a fixed punishment for all kinds of crime. While others are of the view that the circumstances of an offence should be taken into consideration when deciding on a punishment. In the following, essay I will discuss both views along with my opinion.
Countries around the globe are usually governed by a set of rules, which are implemented by their governments most of the time. There are some individuals who believe that governments should invest the collected taxes in the arts, such as music and theatre. But, few individuals think that these authorities who collect money to run a state must invest the same in public services instead. I agree with the latter statement and I will discuss this in the following essay.
There are many things that are responsible for making someone happy. Some say that individuals are taking full responsibility for their own happiness, while some say that it depends on external factors of ones' lives. I agree that happiness comes when someone is capable of controlling their own feelings. In addition, our behaviour towards others is able to create chain reactions that determine our own emotions.
Some people believe that it is best to accept bad circumstances, such as a displeasing profession or shortage of funds while others argue that it is best to try and make better such situations. This essay will argue that although accepting bad situations and adapting may lead stress-free life, I believe that it is better to try and enhance such situations that will lead to earning more money and being satisfied in a job.
Nowadays, a group of undergraduate students are considering exploring additional fields in addition to their main subjects, while others consider that students who studying in college should devote their time to their main subjects as much as possible. There are some pros and cons brought by these aforementioned two different learning ways. In my perspective, the benefits of learning extra subjects are surpassing the downsides.
Numerous individuals argue that fine arts like visual arts and music do not enhance folk's life so the government ought not to spend money on it. In my opinion, I strongly disagree with the given statement and I will elaborate on it in this essay.
We are living in the modern world where everything is technology-based and the internet is growing fast as compared to magazines however the trend of the newspaper is coming to an end. Therefore, I agree with the above statement because it is an era of social media and everything is accessible with just one click, Mainly everyone has a busy routine so they don't have time to read it page by page. I will talk about it more in my essay below.
It is argued that learning from home is superior to attending school. This essay will express the opinion of the writer who strongly agrees with the following statement due to the freedom and drawback of direct teaching in school.
Higher academic education is considered prestigious and brings many employment opportunities. However, some believe that getting vocational skill training and experience in some businesses is more beneficial for the future. In this essay, I will describe both these points of view and my opinion with supportive points.

In the past, many technologies were made by science and used as weapons since these have destructive power. It is argued that students should study from home while other people say that it should be better for them to apply at school. This writer totally agrees that students learning at home by themself will bring more benefits than being taught at school.
In this day and age, affluent nations regularly facilitate the development of other impoverished countries by aiding them in expenditure. However, it is believed that this kind of assistance cannot completely solve the foundational reason for this issue. Instead, first-world countries should support third-world ones in other ways. From my point of view, I strongly approve of this opinion.
There are a number of advocates who think that studying at home is better than learning at school. Personally, I disagree with the statement because of some advantages students can have when they learn at school and will explain the reasons for this opinion in the paragraphs below.
In a large number of nations, smoking in public has been considered an illegal activity. Also, most of the people consider this action as justifiable. In my opinion, a ban on smoking in public places can bring astounding benefits for the overall welfare of society.
