Today’s food travel thousands of miles before it reaches the customer. Some people say that it would be better for the economy and environment if people ate food produced from local farmers. Would the advantages of this idea outweigh the disadvantages?

Some people advocate that consuming local food would lead to a number of economic and environmental benefits. I personally believe that the drawbacks of this idea would overshadow its merits.

Nowadays, sports stars can earn a great deal of money from advertising expensive sporting goods and other products. What problems might this cause? Do you think this is a negative or positive development?

Sports and advertising are now very closely linked. Thus, when we think of famous sports stars, we often inevitably think of the brand of clothing they wear. This can cause problems but also has a positive effect.

It is important for towns and cities to have public places such as parks and squares. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

The living environment always has profound impacts on life quality of each person and the community as a whole. Towns and cities should consider public places, such as parks and squares, as important as basic infrastructure like housing and transport system.

Some people believe that women should play an equal role as men in a country’s police force or military force, such as the army, while others think women are not suitable for these kinds of jobs.

Working in the police force and military service is a challenging and demanding job . While some people argue that this job is only suitable to men, others state that women can also play indispensable roles in the army. I am personally a proponent of the latter idea, and in this essay, both points will be discussed before I reason my opinion.

Opinions differ when it comes to whether or not parents should have babies late in their life. While this has several benefits, I believe that overall the drawbacks are greater.

The first smartphone was released in 1992. By then year 2020 there may be as many as 2.5 billion smartphones in the world. The use of smartphones is decreasing our collective intelligence because we are reliant on the technology and not our own minds. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

There is no doubt that within a short span of time the development of a mobile phone is commentable. In my opinion, we, humans hugely depend on this piece of equipment in our day to day life; therefore, the life can be planned intellectually.

Watching a live performance such as a play, concert, or sporting event is more enjoyable than watching the same event on television. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Nowadays, there is a variety of recreational events, from music, sports to festivals. It is believed that watching such performances live is more entertaining rather than on TV. From my perspective, I partially agree that it is better to watch those events live.

The government should spend more money on medical research to protect citizen’s health rather than on protecting the environment. Do you agree or disagree?

Medical and environmental science is believed to be inextricably intertwined with social evolution. It is believed that national budget should be allocated on medical research to protect people’s physical wellbeing in preference to the environment. From my perspective, I entirely disagree with the given statement. This essay will first analyze the merits that the medical industry brings to people; followed by advantages deduced from environmental research.

N THE MODERN WORLD IT IS NO LONGER NECESSARY TO USE ANIMALS FOR FOOD, CLOTHING OR MEDICINE. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give reasons for your answer and include examples from your own experience.

Animal exploitation to meet humans's needs such as food, clothing and medicine is unnecessary. While I agree that the killing of animals may bring some drawbacks to people,I believe that animals play a vital role in inventing new medicine.

Look at her dress! How can she dresses like that when going to work?", asked the women. "She should dress formally", the other lady replied. During our contemporary society, the ways of dressing are now becoming a standard to judge others' professionalism. However, this matter turns out to be a controversial topic when some companies strongly believe that their working skill is more valuable than their looking meanwhile the other affirms that dressing in a suitable way (suitably/adequately ) is a must-have step when going to work. While there is some supremacy to values working quality higher than appearance, this writer still shares identical sentiments with the state that workers should dress in an appropriate way when working.

It is believed that both men and women are involved in fulltime works have to do household chores and bring up their children together. In my opinion, I completely agree with this statement.

It is thought that students in the same academic abilities should be in the same classes, while some people argue that students from different academic backgrounds could better company in classes. I believe that schools should divide those into different groups depending on their levels.

It is controversially argued that parents should take responsibility of training children’s mortality since young ages. However, the opposing side holds a belief that social values had better be taught at school. This essay is going to shed some light on both views and comes to the conclusion of who should be in charge of this.

Others think that the true function of a university should be to give access to knowledge for its own sake, regardless of whether the course is useful to an employer. It is controversially argued whether tertiary education should train students with vocational skills or not. In my perspective, it is the utmost crucial purpose of these institutions to prepare required skills for students in specific fields.

Job fulfillment is widely believed to play a crucial role in adult’s life. There are several extents which make up a sense of satisfaction to each worker, however, whether job contentment does exist or not is still controversially argued.

Nowadays, the amount of traffic is rising at shocking rate in almost countries. There are some consequences that caused by its rising and some measures should be implemented to solve this problem.

It is true that we do not recycle adequate of our household waste many people believe that giving a legislation is the only way for administration to raise recycling. Whereas I believe there is a host of ways to increase recycling.

It is an irrefutable fact that every person in the world has distinct and unique skills. Some individuals are certainly good at sport, art or other abilities they have. Keeping this reality in mind, it is claimed by many analysts that people’s abilities are inherited from their parents. However, others believe that the ability could be imparted to a person to be proficient in that skill. This essay would have a close examination on both sides of the argument before reaching any firm conclusion.

The recent development of air traffic has resulted in the increasing of noise, air pollution and more land is used to build airports and runways. The growth of low-cost and holiday flights is one factor to this, which cause people to ask the government to raise the tax of air travel. However, I do not believe that act should be enough to reduce the consequences and there can be economic disadvantages caused by it.

With the development of lifestyle,traveling is also an important demand especially the travel to another countries, so air plane is one of the populartransportation. To attract the tourists, there are many airport encouraging passengers by the low-ticket flight. That causes air pollution and noise pollution seriously.It is also believed that taxing heavily of government to increase ticket’s price is also a good measure to solve this problem. I strongly disagree both this idea.
