Research Proposal Title: Separation of host cells and impurities from the output of fermentation in alkaloid drugs bioreactor by ultrafiltration Background: Alkaloid drugs are a wide organic compound which are made by living organisms. Alkaloids have at least nitrogen atoms in its structure and have a wide range of phrenological effects such as antibacterial and antimalaria. Nowadays, a myriad of research focuses on the industrial fermentative production of alkaloid drugs from natural sources. However, it is relatively easy to ferment the sources, the low concentration of desired compounds makes drug discovery from fermentation bioreactor difficult. Therefore, others research concentrates on downstream processing which is costly part in bio-drugs production.
