Some people think it is a good idea for students to take a gap year to travel or gain work experience before starting university. Others think gap years are a waste of time. Which viewpoint do you agree with?

Nowadays, there has been an accelerating trend of high school graduates (diplomas) taking a break from studying to work or to travel before pursuing tertiary education. While this is beneficial to some extent, I am firmly of the opinion that its shortcomings are rather weighty for the followers of this trend.

Since the pandemic era started, the intensity level of debates on optimal equilibrium between work and life has significantly increased. This essay strongly supports an idea that maintaining the work-life balance should be the first priority because it is the only way to find enough internal resources to properly care about individual’s health as well as keep in touch with existant social contacts.
