It is true that extinction has been a natural part of Earth’s history long before humans appeared. However, I strongly disagree with the view that people should not intervene to prevent the loss of animal species today, as the current extinction crisis is fundamentally different in both its causes and its scale.

I largely agree with this view, although I believe that punishment should be constructive and carefully administered rather than harsh or physical.
