What, in your opinion, should be the main function of a university?

The role of universities has been always controversial.Several different opinions are existed.Some people believe that some abilities and information,which are beneficial for work,should be taugh at universities.On the other hand,it is argued that universities just play a role in increasing the students knowlege, and it dosent matter the given data are helpful and practical for their job or not.I agree with the first opinion.In this essay,I will discuss both viewpoints and support my ideas with some examples.
